Some of the boys took this photo with my camera. A familiar sight. Kids playing/living on the street.
Teaching a class "around the world" times table game- except the kids were not competitive enough.

Australian attacked with Hugs
At approximately 4:30pm today I was attacked with hugs. I was walking near work when all my cute little 3pm class kids (not the older boys above) ran out of no where and hugged me. There was two hugging me from the front two hugging me from behind, one on each arm and leg. It felt good. In a country where female contact is forbidden (unlike the grown men who walk around hand in hand and take any opportunity to touch each others' thighs and cuddle), I suddenly felt alive again. Bring back the hugs kids!

Feeling Fruity?
Mangoes
are on their way out and guavas are on their way in. Before Bangers I had only ever tasted guava mixed with champagne, but today I tasted my first fresh guava. I bought it from the man and his mobile cart that was outside my apartment. The photo above was taken from my bedroom window. It wasn't as sweet as I had expected but rather bitter in taste. Normally the guava man cuts and mixes the guava with chilli and salt but I wanted to taste my raw, much to his bewilderment. Guava is a berry and apparently has the highest form of vitamin c and antioxidents out of all the fruits. Today I also tasted my first pink grapefruit whilst at work. Yep it was also served with chilli and salt
! Strangely tasty though!
